FACTS ABOUT CARBONIFEROUS PERIOD

Carboniferous period that’s a part of late Palaeozoic era got its name from the vast coal deposits that was formed from the prehistoric plant deposits. Due to the presence of high amount of oxygen level the period flourished with many organism in bigger size ranging about 3 to 6 ft e.g.Dragon fly,millipede and so on .The period had about 35% of oxygen level compared to the existing situation.

Carboniferous period coal deposits were produced by bark-bearing trees that grew in vast lowland swap forests. The growth of such vegetation in forest produced a huge amount of oxygen that’s about 35 percent but at present the oxygen level is about 21 percent.
